Low-cost open-source hardware democratizes reinforcement learning experimentation, but transitioning from hobbyist platforms to industrial automation requires hardened bearings, precision reducers, and high-reliability motor drivers. https://t.co/zFYkoU2Jpg

4/11 – What is the key question: ❌ Which humanoid robot will win? Tesla? Unitree? Figure? Someone else? ➡️What does EVERY humanoid robot need? Because the winner may change. The supply chain doesn't. Actuators can potentially represent ~40–60% of a humanoid's BOM. And inside the actuator? Gearbox Motor Driver Bearings Sensors Go one level deeper. The gearbox itself can represent roughly 30–50% of actuator cost. So the investment trail starts looking like: Robot → Actuator → Gearbox Follow the value.
