TRON 2 Has a Spec Sheet. It Does Not Yet Have a Job.

LimX Dynamics sells a three-body research robot out of Nanshan. The numbers are lab numbers. The clips are real. The work still has a human in the loop.

The default story about a new Shenzhen humanoid is that it walks, it lifts, and it is therefore almost a worker. TRON 2 is easier to read if you throw that story out on arrival.

LimX Dynamics, 逐际动力, is a 2022 Nanshan company. The founder of record is Wei Zhang, a SUSTech professor who took his doctorate at Purdue and previously held tenure at Ohio State. Zhang Li, formerly COO of WeRide, joined as co-founder and COO in late 2023. Jia Pan is listed as chief scientist. The product that matters for a visit this month is not the full-size humanoid Oli and not the fabric-skinned Luna. It is TRON 2: a modular base that LimX will sell you as a dual-arm torso, a wheeled-leg mule, or a sole-foot walker.

That is a research instrument with a product video. The job of this note is to keep those two facts in different columns.

What LimX claims, in LimX's units

The English spec page is the primary source. LimX marks the sheet as laboratory data that can move with software and configuration. Treat every number below as manufacturer-reported.

AxisSpec sheet
Arm7-DoF, 5 kg max / 3 kg extended per arm
Dual-arm marketing load10 kg
Repeatability±0.5 mm
Teleop100 ms, VR
Reach73 cm on the product page
Gripper20 N, 85 mm jaw
Soles2–3 m/s, 15° slope, 20 cm step
Wheels3–5 m/s, 30° slope
Carry30 kg flat, 20 kg on stairs
Battery9 Ah ternary lithium, 2,800 W peak, 20–80% in 30 min
BrainIntel Core Ultra, 2 TB, ROS 1 and ROS 2, Python and C++
EyesIMU standard. Head and wrist RGB-D with the dual-arm kit. Waist RGB-D is not marked standard on the spec table.

A few numbers that circulate should be left at the door, or kept in a separate column.

The Robot Report recap of the December 2025 launch used 50 ms teleop and 70 cm reach. The current LimX sheet is 100 ms; the product page is 73 cm. The Chinese launch post also claims a 60 kg body limit and a four-hour runtime. Neither figure is on the English spec sheet.

Price is the other mix-up. LimX's own launch post, 18 December 2025, priced TRON 2 from RMB 49,800. Aggregator pages that list about $7,000 are quoting that floor, not inventing it. A UK distributor lists Standard near $20,000 and EDU near $25,000, one to two months out. Confirm which SKU the floor price actually ships.

What has actually been shown

The public marks sit on top of that sheet. None of them is a paid shift.

Launch, December 18, 2025. LimX posted the official TRON 2 film. The body changes shape. That is the product.

Open VLA, July 30 and August 24, 2026. Candy handoff, then apples from bananas with an active-vision head. LimX says the full stack is on GitHub and Hugging Face and that a model cycle that used to take three months now takes two hours. That is a developer-kit claim. It is also the most checkable thing on the list: `limxdynamics/tron2_openpi`, `tron2_env`, and FluxVLA are public, with candy, cloth, and sort deploy configs. The code is either there or it is not.

Pharmacy demo with Wuji Hand 2, August 26, 2026. Picking, weighing, grinding, packaging. Dual-arm force and an omnidirectional base. LimX's own camera. About 2.9 million views on the post. No customer named.

ZINOVA construction cell, September 2, 2026. Formwork, multi-layer rebar, tying, on a scaled tilt-up. Dual arms use real tools. Humanoids Daily's read of the same week is the one to carry into the building: teleoperation and human oversight were still in the loop. A torso bolted to a larger industrial arm (RIC Robotics) is a different machine than a free-standing TRON 2, and both have been shown.

LightNav-0, September 4, 2026. Light Origins' open VLN model, zero-shot on Oli and TRON 2, person-follow and instruction search. Posted by LimX. Open model on an open-ish body. Not a warehouse tour.

TRON Camp 2026 is the other public surface: students taking a humanoid from sim to dirt in five days. That is a go-to-market for EDU units, not evidence that the construction cell runs nights.

This weekend, 13 September, Paul Li, LimX's head of R&D, is on an Ultralytics YOLO Vision panel at Shenzhen Bay Culture Square. That is a nearby public surface, not a factory tour.

The rest of the house

Oli is the full-size humanoid, shown at WRC 2025, sold as Lite / EDU / Super. Luna is the interaction body, fabric-wrapped, announced March 2026; LimX says deliveries began within a month. COSA is the agent OS LimX wants on top. None of those are TRON 2. If the visit is about TRON 2, do not let the tour become an Oli keynote.

Funding, as LimX reported it: Series B of $200 million in February 2026 (Stone Venture, JD.com, Oriental Fortune Capital, CoStone, Shangqi, NIO Capital, and others) and a nearly $200 million pre-IPO round in July 2026 (IDG Capital, Lens Technology, GGG Group, Redstone VC, WestSummit, Hefei Binhu, with existing shareholders adding). Humanoids Daily puts the post-money near $2.2 billion. That valuation is press-reported, not a filing in this record. The July newsroom post also says TRON 2 has taken "meaningful orders" from developers, research labs, and enterprise customers worldwide. No named factory customer. No unit count broken out for TRON 2.

The office on the Chinese spec page: 15th floor, Building E, Nanshan I Valley, 3157 Shahe West Road. Enterprise mail is [email protected].

What is not in the record

There is no independent payload test. There is no public teardown of the 7-DoF arm or the wheel module. There is no named factory customer running a free-standing TRON 2 without a pilot in the room. There are no TRON 2 unit shipments in the public record.

The honest sentence, the one that should sit on the company page: TRON 2 is a shipping research platform with a strong demo library. It is not yet a worker.

Five questions that pay for the trip

Which SKU is on the floor — EDU, Standard, or a kit that is not on the website?

Can they time a 3 kg extended-arm pick with no VR in the loop, and will they let you hold the stopwatch?

Who cuts the 7-DoF arm, the wheel module, and the RGB-D heads — LimX or a supplier you can visit this week?

On the ZINOVA cell, what fraction of the rebar cycle is teleop, what is scripted, and what is closed-loop? Is the RIC-mounted torso the same SKU as the free-standing body?

Lead time for an EDU unit, and what fails in the first 90 days.

If those five have answers, the spec sheet starts to become a record. Until then it is a brochure with a GitHub link.
